Destruction and rebirth: shoe edition

Long time no blog! I've been quite occupied the past couple weeks: hosting a certain gringo dad in rural Peru, exploring the mis-mashed Inca/colonial city of Cusco, hiking the stunning high-mountain Inca trail, and visiting Machu Picchu. More posts to come on all those adventures, once I settle back in and Dad and I find a feasible way to share photos across continents.

For now, please observe one of the simple pleasures of Dad's visit: new shoes. These two pairs are literally the exact same product, but the one on the left has been through a year in Peace Corps.
